“Receive The Gospel And Take A Stand!”
When we use songs in our media programmes without permission we state something like, “I don’t own any right to this song…” In the same way nobody owns any right to the gospel. Paul makes this clear to the Corinthians, “For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…”
Everything that happened to Christ was according to the Scriptures. This is the gospel which is preached and on which those who receive take their stand. In life it is important to take a stand on any issue rather than sitting on the fence.
Paul claims that the resurrected Christ appeared to him too even though he didn’t deserve to be called an apostle.
Paul did not know the physical Jesus, which means he saw the risen Lord by faith, not by sight. When you listen to the life stories of many believers you realise that many people like Paul should say, “…by the grace of God I am what I am…”
Whoever preaches the gospel and whenever is not the originator of the gospel. We receive from others and pass it on to be believed by those who receive and take a stand for it (I Cor.15:1-11).
The core of the gospel is that Jesus lived a human life. His death and burial were confirmed and after his resurrection he appeared to many people. His death was for the atonement of human sin, even though he had no sin. This is the gospel by which we are saved. Saved to do the works of God as in whatever engagement we work as serving the Lord and not men.
Prayer: Lord God receive all the glory because by your grace through Christ Jesus I am who I am.
Welcome back to a new working week. Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
