“Return To The LORD!”(Is.44:21-23).
The book of Psalms concludes with “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” Humankind that considers itself to be the most superior of God’s creatures is the one calling everything that has breath to praise the LORD. Every creature that has a respiratory system is called upon to praise the LORD.
More than the above, the Scriptures use personification by generally calling on all of creation – including the inanimate – to praise the LORD.
Today’s text says the heavens should sing for joy, and those beneath should shout aloud. Mountains, forests, and all her trees should burst into song for the redemptive work of the LORD!
When mercy and grace overlap, there is a need for jubilation and exhiliration!
The LORD in his mercy has swept away our ? like a cloud and our sins like the morning mist.
By his grace, he has made us, and we are his! By his grace, he will not forget us. Above all, by his grace, he has redeemed us! Hallelujah!
My friend, when it feels like God has abandoned you, remember these things: “I have made you, you are my servant…I will not forget you. I have swept away your offenses… Return to me, for I have redeemed you.”
No matter how far away you have wandered from the LORD, he is calling on you to return to him. The LORD has redeemed us through the atoning blood of Christ, and he is with us always through his Spirit. Hallelujah!
Prayer: Merciful LORD, prod us through the Spirit to fully return to you. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
