“To God Alone Be The Glory Forever And Ever!”(Rom.11:33-36).
African wisdom says what an old man sees while sitting, a young man cannot see even while standing on tiptoes! It is faulty reasoning to think that old age means wisdom. Fools and dullards do not suddenly become wise when they get older! Is it not said that a fool at forty is a fool forever?
Nevertheless, all human wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are limited when it comes to God.
Human beings are limited in all aspects, God is unlimited. Humans are fallible, imperfect, and mortal! God is infallible, perfect, and immortal! As such, we can only be what God wants us to be and know only what he wants us to know!
When Thomas Aquinas said, “I believe because it is absurd,” he was simply stating the obvious that faith does not make sense through logic!
Even the most pious believers often behave as if God owes them anything! No! God is our sole provider or supplier, but he owes no one of any apology for not granting their requests.
We have constantly pointed out how Christianity on the African continent predates the colonial and missionary enterprises on the continent. Those who are making money with videos that see Christianity in Africa to be a milestone project of Western hegemony or that Christianity is a scam, how much better are they without Christianity?
Indeed, the biblical fool “says in his heart that there is no God.” But the biblical fool is wiser than today’s fool who uses a microphone to shout that there is no God! Nothing has changed; God is very much alive since from when Nietzsche said, “God is dead!”
It is difficult to use limited human intellect for it to make sense of the knowledgeofGod. God’s foolishness is wiser than any human wisdom.
Being an apologetic for the faith does not make me or any apologetic wiser than others!
Truth be told, in our humanness, we are not skilled to understand what God had willed or planned. We only know at his right hand stands one who is our Saviour.
New Testament Christianity quickly understood this human limitation and composed this hymn of praise(doxology):
“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments and his paths; beyond tracing out! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counsellor?” “Who has ever given to God that God should repay them?” For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”
Yes, to God alone be glory forever and ever! Amen!
Prayer: To you alone, O God, be glory forever and ever. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
