“Obey The Terms Of The Covenant!”
“Listen to the terms of this covenant and tell them to the people…’Cursed is the man who does not obey the terms of this covenant…Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God…'”
The terms of any agreement states the repercussions for defaulting, while stating the gains for adherance. It is not different with the terms of the covenant we made with God or better still, the covenant God made with us.
Unfortunately, what happened to the people of old seems to be repeating itself. There is a conspiracy to visit the sins of the past. A conspiracy of following other gods and serving them.
The result of such disobedience is inescapable dissaster upon us. Such that even when we cry to God he won’t listen. And when we cry to those many gods whom we serve, they won’t help us either, because they are just idols!
This scary pandemic to which the whole world is exposed is because we have as many gods as we have towns. And the alters we have set up “to burn incense to that shameful god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem”(Jer.11:1-13).
Dear friend, do you have an idol? Are you burning incense at the alter of any Baal? Then stop it and get rid of it/them!
After that self-cleansing, look around your neighbourhood and if there are any alters to any gods, let the children of God gather together and call on the Holy Spirit to spiritually destroy those gods while the children of God physically pull down those gods and their evil alters!
Let us return to the Lord so that when we pray he will answer us. His steadfast love never fails towards those who obey him and do as he has commanded.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, your blood is the seal of the new covenant. Let my trust and hope be in you alone. Amen!
