“Keep Hope Alive Because Hope Does Not Dissappoint!”
We were once estranged from God, but by faith we are confident that Jesus Christ has ushered us into his presence. The heavy temple curtain that seperated us from the presence of God has been removed (cf. Mt.27:51). This is enough for us to have peace with God and also to rejoice in the hope of the glory of God as much as we rejoice in our sufferings.
Peace with God is not just a subjective feeling of “peace of mind”; it is primarily an objective status, a new relationship with God. Sin had made us enemies of God but thtough faith in Christ we are now God’s friends.
We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God by being confident that the purpose for which God created us will be ultimately realised. Even in suffering we have to rejoice because such suffering is not meaningless. It is in God’s plan to produce character in his children.
From suffering we migrate through perseverance and character which produces hope in us. “And hope does not dissappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us”(Rom.5:1-5).
So to say, our hope is not based on unfounded optimism. On the contrary it is the blessed assurance of our future destiny based on God’s love. All true believers have the gift of the Spirit, reason why they have peace and joy. Under all circumstances we know our tomorrow will be better than today!
Weekend prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ. Through you I know my tomorrow will be better than today, because I have this hope that does not dissappoint. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
