“Come What May, Trust And Obey The Lord!”
As a reminder let me quote myself. “Obedience is the soft cushion of faith and belief. No degree of miraculous signs can convince the disobedient!” The man now popularly known as “the father of faith” sat comfortably on that soft cushion of obedience! We are told, “By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”
God calls us to unknown destinations and uncomfortable conditions. But such discomforts should not discourage us, because as a friend once told me, “hunger that has hope does not kill!” When we know that we are heirs of the promise – like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were – we would bear any discomfort with joy. Because like Abraham of old we look forward to a city with foundations whose architect and builder is God”(Heb.11:8-10).
Jesus became the Christ when he won the victory over death. As co-architect with God he now assures us, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in god; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms…”(Jn.14:1-4).
Just ponder over these songs, “There’s a land that is fairer than day. And by faith we can see it afar. For the Father waits over the way. To prepare us a dwelling place there…” “…We are passing in this world…” “This world is not my home…” “Whither pilgrims are you going…” “My home is is beyond the sky…I am a stranger here…” The list is long! But they all carry the one message that we are all “looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God “
My friend, keep faith alive as you trust and obey the Lord who has assured you of a bright and better land; both in this world and in the hereafter!
Prayer of the week: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for being the gateway to the city whose architect and builder is God. In faith I trust and obey. Amen!
Welcome to a new working week and have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
