“Endurance For The Sake Of The Gospel!”(II Tim.2:8-13).
Paul was imprisoned for the sake of the gospel. The gospel in its simplest form is “Jesus Christ, raised from the dead.”
Although Paul was chained like a criminal, his joy is that “God’s word is not chained.”
Lesson: Being a servant of the gospel is not an ivy tower kind of work. We have to be ready to “endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory.”
The message of salvation is summed up in this ancient hymn:
“If we died with him,
we will also live with him;
if we endure,
we will also reign with him.
If we disown him,
he will also disown us;
if we are faithless,
he remains faithful,
for he cannot disown himself.”
Yes, my friend, when hard times hit on, you remember that “Christ remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” Hallelujah!
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit, empower us daily with the spirit of resilience as we testify on the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
