“The Resurrection Of Christ: A Source Of New Birth And A Living Hope!”(I Pt.1:3-9).
If God insists on justice, we would not be saved. God, however, overlooks our presumptuous sin by tampering justice with mercy.
God’s mercy comes with a price that weighs down on him – if not that he is God. By “God’s great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead…” We are heirs of “an inheritance that never perish, spoil, or fade.”
When a legacy is bequeathed to a minor, such a legacy is kept in trust and passes on to the beneficiary only at the right time as specified in the will. This kind of terms and conditions apply even to us in regard to our inheritance that is kept in heaven.
Through faith, we know that we are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. This last time is in the second coming of Christ. This last time is when we have reached our full potential, met with the requirements of the will, and can now possess our possessions.
While we wait for the will to materialise, we may suffer some hardships, but they are temporary. Sufferings and trials are short-lived when we know that their expiry brings us into our inheritance.
We have to greatly rejoice that trials come to refine us and prove the genuineness of our faith, resulting in praise, glory, and honour when the Lord Jesus Christ is revealed.
My friend, scriptures reiterate that we, the people of faith, do not walk by sight; we walk by faith. That is why we love the risen Christ even though we do not see him, we believe in him even though we do not see him now.
Let us be filled with inexpressible and glorious joy for what the resurrection has done for us! Hallelujah!
Prayer: Glory be to you, Father Almighty, for your great mercy on us. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
