“The Remnants Will Receive God’s Pardon And Forgiveness!”(Mi.7:18-20).
My people say “when a mother beats a child she pushes him under the bed. She does not send him outside where he may be exposed to unknown dangers.” Again they say that, “a mother bolts the door with the soft part of a bamboo.” This is in consideration that upon return, the child can easily destroy what fastens the door and enter.
The message of prophet Micah has the above kind of relevance. His messages alternates between messages of doom and messages of hope. It is about God’s sterness and his kindness.
Our God hates idolatory, injustice and rebellion, but he takes delight in pardoning the penitent. God’s anger against the sinner is holy anger because he hates the sin but loves the sinner.
There is hope for the penitent because of who God is. He deserves our praises for the promises he has made and which he will fulfil.
If you have absolute trust in God that he has delivered you through Jesus Christ, then continue in that trust in him that he is going to take you out of that situation in which you find yourself at the moment. He will make a way where there seems to be none. Just when you think your back is against the wall, the sweet silent voice of God whispers to you, Keep going. I am not done with you yet! I am still in the middle of the sentence of the story of your life! This is a coma, no full stop yet!
Yes, there is no God like our God, who pardons sin and forgives transgressions. He does not stay angry forever, but delights to show mercy. We are confident that he will again have compassion on us and tread our sins underfoot. He will show mercy to us in fulfilment of the pledge he made long ago.
Yes, no matter how pitched dark the night may be, our confidence is that we are closer to the dawn and the day is going to be bright and sunny! Just work on your relationship with God and with others by being penitent; for the penitent are the remnants for which the promises are made.
Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ, because through you the Father does not keep a record of our sins. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
Rev Babila Fochang.
