“The Inclusiveness Of God’s Amazing Grace!”(Jn.10:11-16).
I can say convincingly that bike riders and “clando” drivers who carry exaggerated heavy loads do not own the bikes or vehicles they ride or drive. Owners use with care what belongs to them. Meanwhile, hired hands don’t care whatever happens to what does not belong to them.
A hired hand wouldn’t risk his life for what is not his.
Speaking to nomads
Jesus likens himself to a shepherd; not only a shepherd, but a good shepherd who lays down his life to protect the sheep from wild animals.
A major shortcoming of primary and secondary education in our fatherland is overcrowded classrooms. When teachers hardly know the name of pupils or students, they can’t be able to discover the special needs of the pupils or students. Jesus is different. Jesus says, “I know my sheep and my sheep know me…” If you are a believer, do not pay attention to naysayers. Those are the thieves who come to steal, kill, and destroy.
Jesus was not offering lipservice when he said ,“I lay down my life for the sheep.”
Nevertheless, I like to emphasise the all-inclusiveness of God’s amazing grace in Christ. Jesus says, “I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They, too, will listen to my voice, and there shall be one one flock.”
We Gentiles are the non-aligned who have been brought in because God’s grace is sufficient for all who call on the name of Jesus. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”(Acts 4:12).
There is just one flock and one shepherd. The church of Christ may seemingly be thorn apart by schism based on doctrinal or administrative differences, but the church owner says, “there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”
Christ laid down his life for all who believe in him, but it was a good thing because the grave and death did not hold him captive! He died to ensure that we should have life in abundance through his resurrection! Hallelujah!
Let us learn from his example to be sacrificial in love and service to others.
Sunday prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for laying down your life even for me. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
