“The Gift Of The Spirit Of Truth!”(Jn.14:15-19).
Reading a few books by T. Lopsang Rampa, I was carried away by his astral projection, the occult, and auras. I believed like others that he was a Tibetan monk with a lot of spirituality to offer. However, the lie was uncovered when his true identity was established as Cyril Henry Hoskin, an English man who had never travelled to Tibet. All his works were fabrications.
Also, reading the voluminous “Robison Crosoe” by Daniel Defoe, one may be tempted to think that it’s content happened in real time. Little wonder that Defoe has often been referred to as “the greatest liar.”
Indeed, there are people who, in real time, present fiction as history and even believe their own fictitious tales! But the truth is stubborn! Very stubborn!
Sadly, truth has short legs. When truth and falsehood set out on a journey, falsehood gets to the destination when truth is still a short distance from the beginning. Yet truth prevails!
To parody Lucky Dube, the terrible thing about truth is that if you stand for truth, you stand alone!
Jesus says if we love him, we should keep his commands. And he will ask the Father, and he will give us another advocate to help us and be with us forever – “the Spirit of truth.”
The Spirit of truth is a bitter pill that the world cannot accept “because it neither sees him nor knows him.” However, those who love Christ and keep his commands know the Spirit of truth, for he lives in them. Believers are the temple of the Spirit.
Apart from the Spirit of truth as a gift, there is also this blessed assurance: “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you…Because I live, you also will live.”
Oh yes, we are never without our Lord and Master! Hallelujah!
My friend, love of Christ and obedience to his commands is a precondition for possessing the Spirit of truth who assures us of the continuous presence of Christ. Under any circumstances, let your faith not waver! The Spirit of truth is there assuring your blessings, seen and unseen. He is there fighting you known and unknown battles! He is there guiding you and leading you into all God’s truth.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for the blessed assurance of your continuous presence. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
