“Preach The Word Of God Under Any Condition!”
There was somebody in my village called, “Easy Life.” As I reflect on it I ask myself whether there is an easy life as such. Of course, you can conclude that this is pessimism, but I know I’m an optimist.
Paul told young Timothy, “Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead…This is my gospel for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus…”
Here we see in Paul the readiness to die for the gospel if that would bring salvation to the elect. Also the glaring truth that “God’s word is not chained.” You may torment and persecute the messengers of the word and even chain them, but you cannot chain God’s word!
Paul wrote some of his best letters from prison. The German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer was imprisoned for being an anti-Nazi dissident and while in prison he wrote some of the best Christian literatures. All these and many more proves that God’s word is not chained.
My friend, hold on to your faith no matter the condition and situation, noting that, “If we died with him, we will also live with him. If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us. If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself”(II Tim.2:8-13).
It is in God’s word that we know that his mercy endures forever and that his grace is sufficient for us. Hold tight to the word of God and keep the faith, no matter how you may be persecuted for it.
Weekend prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ for being an all weather friend to me. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
