“Give To Our God Immortal Praise…!”

“Give To Our God Immortal Praise…!”(Lk.19:37-40).
Once upon a time there was political tension in my village that was sparked by religion. Few months later I went to the village to conduct a research for a book chapter. My interest was to find out the level of religious coexistence within the Sub Division. In a discussion with the pastor of one of the mushroom groups he told me that the desecration of an instrument of traditional religion should not spark inter-village rivalries. He said if the traditional God is potent enough as his adherents claim, he should be able to fight for himself and defend that which is his own.
The same can be said of the deities of all religions. They are strong enough to fight for themselves and not allow their fanatic adherents to kill in their names!
True disciples of a religion must adhere to the truth that human beings do not fight for their God, rather it is God who fights for them.
This is the truth which Moses drummed into the children of Israel in their moment of desperation. “Do not be afraid. Stand firm…The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still”(Ex.14:13-14).
A whole crowd of the disciples of Jesus “began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen.” Then some Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” Wow! Envious Joy killers! They were fighting for their God!
Jesus gave them a humiliating response: “I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”
Yes, God who can bring dry bones back to life can cause the stones to cry out his praises. Hello friend, you may be passing through some difficult moments, do not be afraid; be still because the LORD is fighting for you. Take a moment and look around you and you will be amazed by the silvery wonders of God’s miraculous grace. Appreciate what you see by joyfully praising God for the miracles you see.
“Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory to the highest!” Do not let anybody or any situation deter or distract you from joyfully praising God for the miracles you see daily. Your being alive and reading this post is a great miracle in your life! Praise God for that!
Prayer: Father, I praise you for the wonders of grace manifested in our lives through Jesus Christ your Son, our Lord. Amen!
