“Bring God Back To Our Land!”(I Chron.13:5-8).
Some years back, one village in the North West Region planned a day of collective prayer for the cleansing of the village. The event did not go on successfully as it is said to have been thwarted sadly by some Christians. These were people with skeletons in their cupboards who feared that such a collective prayer would expose their hypocrisy. A few months ago, another village, still in the same region, came together for a day of collective mourning for all who passed away in crisis periods.
There are certain events that call for a national response. When David became king of Israel, he showed much concern about the presence of God through his ark of the covenant. After consulting with all Israel, David fixed a day on which all Israel gathered together to await the moving of the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.
As this was done, “David and all the Israelites were celebrating with all their might before God, with songs and with harps, lyres, timbrels, cymbals, and trumpets.”
From the look of things, it is important to fix a day to establish God in our country! On such a day, beginning from the top to the bottom, we would come together to celebrate in songs and all the types of musical instruments that God has inspired us to design. Each time we experience God’s presence, we have to burst forth in songs with drums, zylophones, rattles, flutes, etc!
Like the psalmist urges:
“Praise the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord”(Ps.150).
My friend, never tire of singing praise to the LORD Most High!
Prayer: O LORD, open our lips and let our mouths proclaim your praise. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
