“As We Await The LORD Our Righteousness…!”(Jer,23:5-8).
Father we thank you for the gift of a new day. Through the prophet Jeremiah came the promise of a king who will be called “The LORD Our Righteousness.” The difference between this king and other kings is that he is a king “who will reign wisely and do what is just and right in the land.”
A musician sang, “We are hungry, we poor people we need our share…” It was Malcolm X who said you are not a diner by merely sitting at table with nothing in your plate. You are a diner when you eating with the others who are at table.
Wherever and whenever you find agitation against a leader, just know that gross injustice and unrighteousness is being perpetrated by that leader. The hurt of marginalization is what has brought us to where we now are!
Before you consider some people to be noise makers, find out what the noise is all about. If the noise is because of a grumbling empty stomach, give them their own food.
We are expecting Jesus Christ our Lord. He is the wise ruler who reigns with justice and righteousness. He is also a gatherer of the wandering. We who are called by his name cannot be the epitome of wickedness, injustice and unrighteousness. Whatever justification we propagate in words is charade and laughable because the language that our audiences understand better is in what they see us do and not what we say; no matter long we take to explain ourselves to beg sympathy.
Therefore my friend, be wise, be righteous and just. Above all, be a gatherer who reconviles and bring God’s children into the fold. Don’t be a scatterer.
Prayer: Holy Spirit guide me that as I wait for the Lord Jesus Christ I should be wise, righteous and just, and.to gather and not to scatter. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
Rev Babila Fochang.
