“Jesus Is Calling, Come And Save Your Soul…!”
We are thankful to God Almighty for giving us another week. We trust that his protective arms will continue to be around each of us as we go about our daily activities.
This week will centre on God’s ever readiness to accept the repentant sinner. Some say that we should not continue to feel guilty of sin because Jesus Christ bore our sins once and for all on the cross of Calvary. If that was so the Christian milieu would have been rid of evil, but it isn’t the case.
God spoke through Zechariah, “On that day, I will banish the names of idols from the land, and they will be remembered no more…I will remove both the prophets and the spirit of impurity from the land”(13:1-2).
One of the major achievements of the missionaries was they caused the Africans of many villages to publicly burn their idols.
Today the idols have resurfaced everywhere and impurity has become a lifestyle! Prophets have become liars! Liars call others liars. Of such days Zechariah said, “And if anyone prophesies, his father and mother, to whom he was born, will say to him, ‘You must die, because you have told lies in the Lord’s name.’
My friend, God is not concerned about the death of anybody. That is why he is asking you and I to return to him so that he can open a fountain that cleanses from “sin and impurity.”
The steadfast love of the Lord manifested in the death of Jesus Christ never changes and does not fade!
Jesus assures, “I will not cast out anyone who comes to me!” I remember the old song, “Jesus is calling, come and save your soul…”
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ banish the names of the idols in our land and cleanse me in the fountain of purification. Amen!
