“Sing To The LORD A New Song Of Hope!”(Is.42:10-16).
“The end of a matter is better than its beginning…”(Eccl.7:8). Yesterday, we held a funeral service, and the quote from Ecclesiastes was the verse that the family had put on the front cover of the funeral leaflet. There is evidence of undaunted hope in the verse. If the end is better than its beginning, then there is confidence in what is coming at the end.
The prophet Isaiah ask us to “Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth… I will lay waste the mountains and hills and dry up all their vegetation; I will turn rivers into islands and dry up the pools. I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.”
We praise the LORD for what he has done, but more for what he says he will do. We know that the LORD is faithful and will do what he says he will do.
Let us praise the LORD for the benefits of the past and present, but more for the assurance of our tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be better than today. This deserves a new song. Whatever is and was are passed away and behold, all things are made new.
Sing new songs of hope to the LORD for his love demonstrated in the sacrifice of his Son has made all things new to us. The future is brighter because the end of everything is better than its beginning! Hallelujah! Praise the LORD!
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit, inspire me daily to sing new songs of hope to the LORD for his unfailing promises. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
