“What If…!”(I Pt.1:13-21).
What if suddenly the news everywhere is that the risen Lord Jesus Christ is returning tomorrow? How are you going to react to such news? What will be your main preoccupation when you receive such news? Will you wish that Jesus should delay a bit before coming? Why would you want his coming to be postponed? What is it you have done for which you are remorseful? What is there that you ought to have done, but you intentionally ignored it?
My friend, forget the collective we we we! The above questions are like the VANHIVAX HIV vaccine of the late Prof. Victor Anomah Ngu. Each person’s vaccine works for him/her alone.
With the above questions, copy work is allowed because whoever copies has already failed! God, the examiner is “a Father who judges each person’s work impartially.”
Each person’s answers demands alert and fully sober minds that enable you “to set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Christ is revealed at his coming.”
Christ is the way and not the end. “Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.”
My friend, there is just one way to prepare for what we hope for: “Be holy in all you do;” because God himself is holy.
In our humanity, we may not claim the perfection of holiness, but let it be that when Christ appears, he will commend us for making daily strides to attain the holiness expected of us.
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit, direct my steps daily on the route of holiness. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
