“Living The Word Of God!”(Lk.11:27-28).
“As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, ‘Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.’ He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.'”
Mary, the mother of Jesus, deserves the blessings that the woman poured on her. However, the praise belonged more to Jesus than to his mother. It was a kind of figure of speech to say, “What a great and wise teacher!”
Jesus wasn’t teaching , so he should receive the applause of human beings. The reason for Jesus’ presence in the world was to save us from sin. There is no greater honour that we can give to Jesus apart from obeying the word of God.
We are blessed if we hear the word of God and obey it.
Indeed, blessed are you if you hear the word of God and obey it!
Prayer of the day and week: Holy Spirit, work in us so that when we hear the word of God, we should live it. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working day and week! Have a blessed day and week!
