“Search And Find The Narrow Gate!”(Mt.7:13&14).
Dearly beloved in the Lord, it’s another day of grace, and we don’t take it for granted. A new day should bring you joy because a new day means God’s mercy, love, and compassion wrapped in grace is still sufficiently available for you.
Today, we are reflecting on a weighty but brief words of our Lord Jesus Christ concerning the efforts we put in as we vye for the kingdom of God. The Lord Jesus says: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
A wide gate and the broad road that it opens to is visible and easily detectable. Many people quickly see it and rush to go in through it. The first danger of this wide gate is the risk of a stampede that stalls movement and can kill many.
The second and deadly danger is that the destination of the broad road is a deadend – an abyss!
The Lord says we should enter through the narrow gate. The gate is small, and the road that it opens to is narrow, but it leads to life.
To see the small gate and the narrow road needs effort. That is why only a few find it.
The first step to gain access is to find it. To find is “to come upon by searching or effort.”
It can also mean to “locate,… discover the location of; determine the place of; find by searching or examining. attain… come across, come upon, discover happen upon, light upon…”
The first step of finding the small gate is to ignore the wide gate and the broad road. It means you have seen the wide gate and the broad road, but the Spirit tells you that this gate and the road is not the only option.
You then search and find the small gate through which you enter and find life.
Dear friend, the way of God is not easily discernible to us. We must search for it. The search begins when you ignore the alluring wide gate of fleshly mundane cravings and pursuits.
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, then by his grace, all other things will be added on to it!
Prayer of the day and week: Holy Spirit lead us daily to search and find the narrow gate that leads to life. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working day and week! Have a blessed working day and week! Peace be with you!
