“God Has Given You New Birth Into A Living Hope…!”
It is a common expression that “when there is life there is hope.” It can better be said that when there is hope then life is worth living. Without hope life is lived haphazardly.
As you read through the first letter of Peter you find that frequent suffering and persecution are mentioned. But hope is a key word in the letter that some commentators think it should better be called “a letter of hope in the midst of suffering.”
The Christian life is not all sunshine. God was not foolish when he made the seasons. We must learn to adapt to the changing seasons of life. God in his mercy has given us new birth into a “living hope” through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
This has not ended our sufferings. We still suffer grief in all kinds of trials as a process to prove how genuine our faith is.
This should result in praise, glory and honour when Jesus comes(I Pt.1:3-9).
My friend, when the storms of life rages on as it is at the moment, do not fret yourself. There is someone in the boat who rises up and commands the angry waves, “Peace be still!”
God does not leave you on the highway to your inheritance. He does not only journey with you but he is your pathfinder who takes you to your destination and establishes you in all comfort. Be filled with inexpressible and glorious joy in your love and belief in the risen Lord by faith.
Prayer: I praise you God and Father of my Lord Jesus Christ for giving me new birth into a living hope. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
