“Worthy Is The Lamb…!”(Rev.5:6-14).
As we round up this week of praise, we remind ourselves that next Thursday is Ascenssion Day. Ascension day commemorates how the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven, after spending forty days on earth from the day he was raised from the dead. He has been exalted to the highest place where he is enthroned as royalty.
We end the week with three songs from Revelation. The first one is a new song, sang by twenty four elders in the service of the ascended Lord. This new song of the elders exalts Jesus as the only one worthy to take the scroll and open its seals. He is qualified because he was slain, and with his blood he purchased men for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.
The next song was sang by an indefinitely large number of angels,“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise.”
The last song was by “every creature in heaven and on earth and on the sea, and all in them, ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever.”
My conclusions from these songs are that:
Jesus stooped to conquer! And he conquered! Secondly, he purchased us with his blood. Thirdly when it comes to praising God, no creature is insignificant. And lastly, there are no tribal, cultural, racial or language barriers when it comes to the “mass choir!”.
Let us learn to stoop to conquer. Let us reflect Christ by sacrificing for others. Let us always express the joy of our salvation in praise, worship, prayer and adoration.
Weekend prayer: Spirit divine fill our hearts with inspirational songs of praise to the glory of the LORD and the Lamb. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
