“Walking In The Way Of Holiness!”(Is.35:3-10).
I may be repeating myself, but if it is helpful, then it is worth repeating. Hot water was poured on the bed bugs. It was the first experience of the baby bugs. They were writhing in pain because they had never experienced such pain. Mother bug who had survived several such ordeals comforted them saying, “Take heart. Whatever is hot will soon get cold.”
Indeed; do not consider the pain of the moment to be anything. It is momentary. The pain of the moment is like a stormy sea. It may rage and cause fear and panic but it does not last. After any storm comes calm waters.
We have a father who is more tender, caring and comforting than mother bug. So long as we are called by his name, our tough times will never last.
God’s promises and assurances are sure to happen as long as we remain in his grace. We are called upon to “strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way; say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear; your God will come…he will come…with divine retribution he will come to save you.”
When we are in Christ all these become ours. The blind see, the deaf hear, “the lame leap like a deer and the mute tongue shout for joy….”
The early Christians were called, “people of the Way.” This was a fulfilment of what Isaiah had prophesied. “The Way of Holines.”
On this Way “the unclean will not journey on it; it will be for those who walk in that Way; wicked fools will not go about on it…the redeemed will walk there, and the ransomed of the LORD will return…”
Dear friend, Advent reminds us that we are pilgrims journeying to home. This is a time of meditative introspection, so that if we have wandered off the Way, we can retrace our steps and get back on the Way. When Christ comes, who is the Way, we will joyfully be part of those who triumphantly walk on the Way.
We have this assurance from the Lord Jesus Christ, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.” Yes, no other way leads to truth and gives life except the Lord Jesus Christ. Prepare yourself to receive him spiritually.
Prayer of the week: Holy Spirit help me to be spiritually prepared to walk on the Way of Holiness. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working day and week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
