“The LORD Will Protect And Provide!”(I Kgs 17:1-6).
Some time ago in my village there was this giant rat hunter who vowed never again to kill a giant rat; talk less of eating it. This guy was a good hunter of giant rats, having great ability to trace their burrows and be able to know whether the burrow was in current use. One day he dug a bu8rro8w and found banknotes which the rat had used for its beddings. He took the money and used it as bride price for a wife. From then hence he vowed never to harm a giant rat.
Generally, the giant rat is known for being a cheerful giver. It takes nuts or seeds from one man’s farm and deposits it in another man’s farm. It has hepled to plant palm trees in some people’s farms. We have been taught how birds help in cross pollination.
What we are saying is that God has a way of protecting and providing for those who remain in him. He uses even animals to feed us in the same way that he uses us to feed animals.
We rears fowls, pigs, goats, cows, etc. When we sell them and make profit we use the profits to carter for our needs. In this way these animals are the ones sustaining us in the same way we sustained then in the rearing process.
We just have to trust the LORD and present his words to those to whom he sends us – just as blunt as it is supposed to be, without sugarcoating it.
He who has commissioned you will stand by you when life gets rough and your enemies want your head on a silver platter!
He did it to Elijah when he prophesied drought to king Ahab. He asked Elijah to go hide in a Ravine. He provided Elijah with water from a brook and caused the ravens to feed the prophet morning and evening with bread and meat. The LORD who protected Elijah and provided his needs through ravens will do it to you in your time of need.
By the way, ravens neither bake bread nor slaughter animals. They can only get these from humans. Never complain when an animal supposedly steals from you. It may just be that the LORD has sent it to take from you to go and feed a hungry child of God somewhere.
My friend, “The LORD will provide” may have become an overused biblical phrase, but truly the LORD still provides to those who believe. And he provides through means we least expect. Just believe and you are in safe hands, no matter the situation or circumstance.
Prayer: Thank you LORD for always protecting and providing for me when I’m in dire straits. Amen!
Welcome back to a new working day and week! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
