“The Lord Is Faithful And True In All He Does!”
Our lives on earth is a pilgrimage towards righteousness. Like Prof Andrew Walls puts it, conversion is a process which we can know when it begins but can hardly tell when it ends. It is a road that to many is winding and having high and low moments.
Yet the psalmist sings, “Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him…Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.”
“For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does. The Lord loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of his unfailing love…”
God “spoke and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.” He foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples… But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations…”
The nation whose God is the Lord is a blessed one and blessed are the people he chose for his inheritance”(33:1-12).
My friend, claim this if the Lord alone is the God whom you trust; his plans stand firm for ever!
This is not to say the composer of this hymn himself claimed righteousness for if the David is the musician, we all know he had his own weaknesses like you and I! But even so, there is need to praise God at all times!
Sing joyfully to him for music is sweet relief to the soul!
Weekend prayer: Lord lead me onwards of that which you love, righteousness and justice. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
