“The Impartial Judge!”

“Advent Journey Day XIII.”
“The Impartial Judge!”(Jn.5:30).
“…the Jews tried all the harder to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God”(Jn.5:18).
To this Jesus answered them, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does”(Jn.5:19).
If there is one important lesson we get from the Lord Jesus Christ it is to do only what God orders us to do.
Jesus came to fulfill his Father’s will and he did so obediently.
Even when he will Mount the seat of Chief Judge, he will act only as the Father requires.
Today he tells us, “By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgement is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.” And to us and about us he says, “…apart from me you can do nothing”(Jn.15:5c).
Whom do you seek to please in what you do? Yourself or God?
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit prepare our hearts to receive the Lord Jesus Christ in total submission. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
