“The Dead Shall Arise!”(I Cor.15:20-28).
The evidences of Christ’s death for the sins of humanity, his burial, resurrection and post-resurrection appearances (I Cor.15:3-8), leads to the categorical conclusion that “Christ has indeed been raised from the dead…” This resurrection of Christ is the guarantee for the salvation of those who value and believe in the importance of the reason for his death. Christ is the first fruit of the resurrection. When he comes again those who belong to him will be resurrected each in his/her own time.
It is going to happen in its own time; which is God’s right time.
There is no reason why we should fake any kind of resurrection to proof anything.
Recently somewhere in Africa a charlatan pastor is in police custody. Reason: He bribed a couple to give a dosage of sleeping pill to their baby. The baby will be prepared for burial, then the pastor will come in at that moment and resurrect the child. Unfortunately for the pastor and to the loss of the couple, nemesis caught up on them. The couple had naively given an overdose of the medicine to the child. The pastor came to resurrect the child, but despite all his prayers and invocations the child was very very dead. The mother of the child could no longer stay mute. She disclosed what had happened.
Dear friend, there is no reason why any of us should fake a resurrection miracle. We don’t have to prove to anybody that the resurrection is real – not through any fake miracle!
When Christ comes, the dead who belong to him shall arise. “Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power…;” and the last enemy to be destroyed is death itself!
Dominions, authorities and powers, and death are the nightmares and headches and heartaches which give believers unending worries and frights. How comfortable to know that all these are soon to pass away!
So therefore, let us not be full of grief for our departed loved ones; neither should we be bothered about what we ourselves shall become after this life. We are going to live after death, because we shall arise! Hallelujah! Glory be to God!
Prayer: Thank you Lord Jesus Christ, the firstfruits of the resurrection. Through you our resurrection ours is assured. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
