“Sing Praises To The LORD!”(Ex.14:30-15:3).
In a funeral homily a lay preacher asked, “Those of you who go to manjong houses instead of the church when you stub your toe against a stone you say, ‘if not of God I would’ve wounded by toe.’ Why do you not say ‘if not of juju I would’ve injured my toe?'”
All good things that happen to us are the LORD’S doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes deserving songs of praise. So it was with Israel after Pharaoh and his army were drowned in the Sea of Reeds.
In as much as we rejoice in the LORD for protecting us against our enemies, we should not rejoice in their demise.
That notwithstanding, the best we can give to God for any good deed is to burst into songs of praise. The LORD is our strength and our defense. The LORD has become our salvation in Jesus Christ both in the physical and in the life to come. Let us never tire of singing the glory of the LORD for what he keeps doing for us and through us!
Prayer: Holy Spirit, inspire me always to burst forth in songs of praise to the LORD, the source of my strength and salvation. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
