“Revealing God’s Glory In Your Hopeless Situation!
Jesus loved Lazarus. (Jn.11:1-16). Her sisters sent word to Jesus, “Lord, the one you love is sick.” When Jesus heard this he simply said, “This sickness will not end in death. No, it is for God’s glory so that God’s Son may be glorified through it.” So saying, he stayed two more days before deciding to go back to Judea where Lazarus was. And it took a day’s journey for him to get to Bethany where Lazarus’ corpse was.
For Jesus Lazarus was not dead, even if he told his disciples in plain language, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe.”
During the time of Jesus many Jews believed that the soul remained near the body for three days after death in the hope of returning to it. If the mourners were thinking that way, then for them Lazarus was absolutely dead. All hope was gone!
My friend, are you faced with a situation where you think that all hope is gone?
*It was 8.am in the morning. A little boy lifted his hands and face up to heaven and prayed: *”Lord, you promised me my daily bread. I want it now! Amen.”*
Sometimes when we bring our problems to Jesus we expect instant results. It doesn’t always work that way. When you get to the best restsurant, serving the best dishes at a quick pace, it still takes time for a waiter to take your command, place it at the counter and kitchen, before eventually coming to serve you. Patience is a virtue to be cultivated in God’s presence if we must allow him bid his time and do things to his glory, not for our glory.
Jesus often take his time. He knows the situation more than us. When we think it is a broken branch, Jesus knows that it is only a bended flexible branch that he will straighten again.
We may think that the route Jesus wants us to travel with him is winding and life threatening. We may think that following him under such conditions is like going “that we may die with him.” But know! When we walk with him, we are in the light and will not stumble. We are walking with Jesus Christ who goes to speak life to a dead situation; all to the glory of God!
Pray for spiritual discernment so that you can be able to discern that although the hour is now darkest, we are closer to the dawn! The Lord is about to speak life in your death situation! Hallelujah!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ in your love bring glory to your name as you speak life in my, and our dead situation. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
Babila Fochang.
