“Return To The LORD!”(Jer.1:11-19).
“…I am watching to see that my word is fulfilled…Get yourself ready. Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land – the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. They wll fight gainst you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the LORD.”
These were God’s words to Jeremiah when he sent him to prophesy against Judah. God certainly have the same such words of assurance to the prophets he sends today.
God was about to pronounce judgment on his people because of their wickedness in forsaking him, “in burning incense to other gods and in worshiping what their hands have made.”
Dear people who occupy this triangle, the signs are obvious. Our ship is rocking and the storm is still ferocious. It is time we summon everybody in the ship to abandon all idolatory and turn to the LORD.
Nobody is exempted from this call to repentance. The kings, the officials, the priests and the people of the land are called to repentance!
Let us not turn against tthe prophets; they are the mouthpieces of the LORD and he is has promised them divine protection. Rather, let us turn against sin and turn to the LORD!
The LORD is watching to see that his word is fulfilled. The door of salvation has been opened wide through the blood of Jesus Christ. To say we believe in him requres our honest evaluation of selves as individuals and collectively as a people. The door of grace is open, waiting to receive us as ndividuals and restore us as a people called by God.
Prayer: Holy Spirit help me as an individual and us as a people to turn away from whatever has become my/our god to the LORD Almighty. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
