“Rejoice! This Is Your Year Of The Lord’s Favour!”
Turbulent waves do not always capsize boats. Even when boats do capsize there are often no casualties, though in some cases lives are lost.
The year 2020 was such a year of turbulent waves and rough seas. A few boats capsized and some souls were lost. But on the overall we survived the stormy seas and have landed on safe shores.
We joyfully survived the storms because Jesus Christ was in our boat. We did not survive because of the expertise of those who steered the boat.
Now that we have landed on the safe and confident shores of 2021, Jesus Christ declares that 2021 is the year of “good news to the poor”, the proclamation of freedom to the prisoners and the recovery of sight for the blind, releasing the oppressed from the hands of their oppressors, and above all, announcing that 2021 is the year of the Lord’s favour!
Whatever happened in 2020 were life’s lessons to grow our experiences in the Lord and remind us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” We should be steadfast on his word and not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.(Heb.13:8-9).
Our boat will akways sail smoothly on any rough seas if we fix God’s words in our hearts and minds, “tie them as symbols on our hands and bind them on our foreheads.” Teaching them to
our children, talking about them both at home and out of home; and writing them wherever we can constantly read them so that God’s blessings will rest and abide with us in 2021 and beyond (Cf.Dt.13:18-19&26-28).
Oh yes, this year is surely going to be better because wine gets better with age!
Shout it loud, “This is my year to be highly favoured, The Lord is with me!”
New Year prayer: Holy Spirit help me to keep God’s commands and enjoy his favour this year more than ever. Amen!
Have a blessed day and year! Peace be with you!
Happy New Year 2021.
