“Pray For Others…!”(I Thes.3:11-13).
The prayer of intercession should be a constant in both family devotion and general worship. We cannot expect others to be what we want them to be if we do not intercede for them.
We try as much as we can to be strengthened in the faith, but greater strengthening comes from the intercessory prayers of prayer warriors; especially the Religious in convents and monasteries. They intercede a lot for our own strengthening.
Paul’s prayer for the Thessalonian Christians is for us too. He prayed that the Lord may make our love to increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as his own love does for us.
He also prayed that God should strengthen our hearts so that we will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus Christ comes with all his holy ones.”
May we be strengthened by Paul’s prayer and may our love truly increase and overflow for each other and for everyone. May our hearts be strengthened as we strive to live blameless and holy lives, so that on the day of the appearing of the Lord we will be declared blameless and holy.
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit guide me to demonstrable love, and to be in readiness for the coming of the Lord. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
