“May God’s Grace Locate You Always!”
Africans can only consider that biblical Abraham is their ancestor by adoption and not through consanguinity. However, he is the ancestor of all who believe, even if they are not his offspring. This is in the sense that before grace located him, he was where we all are or have been.
The grace of God means God accepts us in our imperfections so that he can mould us into perfection. God in Christ takes us as we are, in order to make us what he wants us to become.
When we believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that he is the Saviour of all humanity, it is reckoned to us as righteousness.
Such righteousness is not on the basis of what we are, but on the basis of what we are to become as God wants us to be.
We are imperfect beings who can grow to full perfection not only when Christ is in us, but when we become Christlike.
We are not blessed because we are righteous; we are blessed because grace locates us.
For as Scriptures say, “Blessed are they whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will never count against him.” This is a blessedness that does not come from righteousness. It comes from grace (Rom.4:6-12).
Grace is when your transgressions are forgiven, your sins are covered and when the Lord will never count your sins against you.
So therefore, lay your sins at the foot of the cross, walk in the footpath of Abrahamic faith and blessedness will be your portion; for God in Christ Jesus will overlook your sins.
