“Made Holy Through The Sacrifice Of The Body Of Christ Once For All!”(Heb.10:1-10).
“The Law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming – not the realities themselves.” That is why all the prescribed offerings and sacrifices that were entailed in the Law have been nullified by the sacrifice made by Jesus Christ.
We learn the lesson of obedience to God from him. In obedience to his Father’s will he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” Through this acceptance to do the will of his Father, “we have been made holy through the sacrifice of” his body “once for all.”
Through his blood we are forgiven and purified and now consecrated to God’s service in whatever calling where the interest and welfare of humanity is served.
My friend, all across the African continent, there are various kinds of animal sacrifices; some at the level of families, some at village levels etc. All such sacrifices are intended to mend strained relationships between one another and between individuals/whole communities and Deity.
Some times we Christians easily entangle ourselves in such sacrifices because it is subtly called “kontry fashion”; meaning it is just a re-enactment of cultural heritage. We are reminded that “we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
Yes, his blood is enough for us. Hallelujah!
Weekend prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for making us holy by the sacrifice of your body once for all. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
