“Lord Thank You For The Offer Of Righteousness Through Faith!”
At the end of the day it is “faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe” that puts us right with God. This is because the holiest of all amongst us is as guilty as the rest of us all. Where we succeed not to sin in deed, we may still have sinned in intent. No-one amongst us can be confident to cast the first stone (Jn.8:7). “There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus…”
This amazing and abounding grace is not a license for continuing in sin (Rom.6:1). God has overlooked our past evil deeds and through Christ Jesus he has given us opportunity to turn over a new leaf.
God has thus demonstrated his justice by being impartial. While the offer is to all of us, the benefits are for those who have faith in Jesus Christ and believe in the redemptive power of his blood.
To everyone who comes to Jesus in faith, he declares, “Take heart, daughter/son; your sins are forgiven…Get up…go home” (Mt.9:1-8) “…and leave your life of sin” (Jn.8:11).
In Jesus is the offer of new life and renewal.
The law cannot justify any of us because throughout the generations even lawmakers are law breakers! In recognition of this, God has made the ultimate redemptive sacrifice. Through Christ Jesus we have been “justified freely” (Rom.8:21-26).
Sunday prayer: Heavenly Father thank you for the redemptive blood of Christ which has brought me this undeserved righteousness. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
