“Live Your Life For The Will Of God!”
One time or the other we are bound to suffer, but as followers of Christ “it is better, if it is in God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.
Our Lord Jesus Christ physically suffered unjustly for doing good. He died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous…He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit…”(I Pt.3:18-19).
Peter enjoins us to arm ourselves with the same attitude, “because he who has suffered in his body is done with sin.” There must be something different to show that we have been armed with the same attitude of Christ. No more living your earthly life in pursuit of “evil human desires, but rather for the will of God”
A transformed life should be the envy of those with whom we once enjoyed those vain glorious delights.
My friend, two days from today we will enter the season of Advent. As you warm up for the season in which we commemorate the birth of Christ we are called upon to live lives that are worthy of children of light. Let us be judged by men according to the body, “but live according to God in regard to the spirit”(I Pt.4:1-6). After all, the body is soon to be food for the soil and manure for the crops, but the spirit is that which will live eternally. It is only when one stops gratifying the body that one can be able to purposefully nourish the spirit.
The answer to the question, *”for what do we live?” is, *”We live for God!”* Living for God requires godly living. The expectations for godly living is to starve evil human desires while feeding the spirit in good works, truth, righteousness, justice, peace and love.
Therefore, live according to the Spirit and bear fruits of the Spirit!
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ help me to arm myself with your attitude by dying to my sinful nature and be made alive by the Spirit. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
