“Land And Vegetation For Our Good!”(Gen.1:9-13).
Any concerned parent starts to buy baby things once the woman is pregnant. This preparation is the beginning of parental show of love.
Any virtue that we practice as humans is a reflection of its original found in the Creator.
In the second day of creation God separated the water above from the water below.
After this the water below was everywhere. So on the third day of creation God caused the water under the sky to gather in one place. He called the dry ground land and the gathered waters, he called seas.
For the second time it is said, “And God saw that it was good.”
Human beings who are the last born of creation came like a newborn baby into a well prepared environment.
When the land was made, God caused the land to produce “vegetation: seed – bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.”
Again “God saw that it was good.”
The third day is one of the two climactic days of creation. Uniquely it is the last day of Forming. The next three days are days of Filling.
On this third day, “God said,” happened twice. And twice on this day God saw that it was good.
The land and vegetation is the mainstay for human survival.
God saw the importance of land and vegetation for humans. We should treat them with care. Wanton waste and destruction of them is calamitous to us.
Ozone layer depletion and climate change are affecting us negatively. We pollute the air, we cause deforestation, we poison the waters with unconsumable wastes; all to our harm.
What God took time to create for us, and which he saw that they were good are being turned into bad.
Let us try to be more intentional in our care for the land and vegetation; God’s loving gifts prepared for us on the third day of creation.
Prayer: Almighty Father, thank you for adequate allocation of land and vegetation for our sustenance. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!

Our Hymn Of Creation Praise For The Day:

  1. O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder,
    Consider all the worlds thy hands have made;
    I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
    Thy power throughout the universe displayed:

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee:
How great thou art! How great thou art!

  1. When through the woods and forest glades I wander
    And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees,
    When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
    And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:

3 And when I think how God, his Son not sparing,
Sent him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burdens gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:

4 When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation,
To take me home, what joy will fill my heart!
Then I will bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great thou art!
