“Knowing The Father Through The Son!”(Jn.1:14-18).
Heavenly Father, thank you for another day of grace!
One story from the New Nation reader of yesteryear that is unforgettable is “Nchanga and Enoma.” These two had an argument about who was first. Being first is no ground to claim superiority.
One feminist has said that if a man claims superiority on the grounds that man was created before woman, this would mean that animals are superior to man because they were created before man.
Talking about Jesus John, the herald said, “This is the one I spoke about when I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.'”
John was the forerunner, sent to prepare the way for Jesus, but he nevertheless acknowledged that Jesus was before him.
John came first chronologically to announce the incarnation. The incarnation is God in Christ revealing his glory by taking a seat among sinful humanity.
On his part, John the gospel writer also testify about Christ.:“We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace.”
Out of the fullness of Christ’s grace, we, too, have all received continuous abundant amazing grace.
Through Christ, we are no longer enslaved by the Law of Moses. We are now beneficiaries of grace and truth.
Grace and truth do what the Law cannot do because the righteous is saved by faith.
In the same way that Jesus, who came later than John the Baptist, was greater than John, so too grace and truth are anterior to the Law of Moses.
Through the incarnation, the LORD has revealed himself to us, and through Christ, we can see the Father whom human beings have never seen, except the Son.
However, grace is not a license for laissez-faire! Grace is a call to God’s discipline, obedience, righteousness, and truth! Grace has opened the door of blessings and salvation to whoever yearns for it.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ, thank you for opening for us the door of grace and truth. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
