“Keep Hope Alive!”
“A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” These words are so alive as if Rachel was living in “NoSo!” Our mothers have wept until their tears are dried up. The cherished cultures of some of our villages are completely destroyed. In such places mothers have become grave diggers and are the ones burying their sons. The men have either been gunned down or they are in hiding in the bushes or they are internally displaced or they are refugees in other countries.
Those with the strongest of faith are tempted to ask, “God where are you? Do you really care?” Of course he cares. He is just where he was when his own son was shamefully killed on the cross.
God cares, so he comforts, “Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded. They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your descendants…Your children will return to their own land”(Jer.31:15-17).
Yes my friend; no matter how hard life has hit on you in the past, be sure that there is hope for your descendants. All peoples everywhere in the world who have been displaced from their homeland and are internally displaced or are refugees, there is hope for your descendants. “Your children ‘will’ return to their own land!”
Our God does not renege on his promises. Whatever it is you are passing through now, “all will be well…all must be well!”
Keep hope alive and remain obedient to God’s word!
Prayer of the week: Lord thank you for the words of assurance that our children will return to their own land. Amen!
Welcome to the first week of the serious business of work in 2021! Have a blessed day and week! Peace be with you!
