“Keep Away From The Crowd Till It is The Appointed Time!”
The plot thickens. A high profile meeting of the Sanhedrin composed of chief priests and the Pharisees is covened. The lone case for the day is to evaluate the progress made so far about killing Jesus. So far the attempt is a fiasco. But they did not give up; “So from that day on they plotted to take his life.”
But what is he accused of? He was performing many miraculous signs. For political expediency he must be stopped through an assasination.
The enemies are always around, scheming, plotting to pull you down; not because you have done wrong, but because you have done good. Such is life!
A lesson from Jesus Christ: When Jesus knew the plot against him, he “no longer moved publicly among the Jews. Instead he withdrew to a region near the desert…where he stayed with his disciples.” Jesus knew he had to die even as Caiaphas had prophesied in the Sanhedrin. He was that one man to die for the people so that the whole nation should not perish(Jn.11:47-54). But he was not to die before his time. He would die for others, but in his own time, not the time of his enemies.
My friend, it is good to be discerning as you wait for things to happen in God’s time. Don’t give the enemies the opportunity to triumph over you when it is not yet God’s time. There is a time to withdraw and not move about publicly among the enemies. Take note that COVID-19 is now one of those enemies roaming the streets. To stay safe, withdraw from the public as much as you can.
Prayer: Heavenly Father give me a discerning spirit to know when to withdraw from the enemy until it is your appointed time. Amen!
