“Judgment Day: A Day Of Commensurate Rewards II!”(Rev.11:15-19).
Heavenly Father, I wake up knowing that the earth and everything in it belong to you. I resolve to revere your name as I handle the things of the earth.
It is attributed to King Louis XIV to have said, “I am the state,” and “It is legal because I wish it.” This kind of defiance by a human being can only come from a complacent person who thinks God can do nothing good or bad!
It is the same as saying that not even God can change a decision taken by a mere mortal.
Sometimes, we are tempted to ask Jesus whether we should call down fire from heaven to consume some people for arrogantly making statements that are intended to benefit a few while trampling and suffocating the majority? Or whether we should not weed the weeds planted by the enemy so that the wheat should grow healthily?
Jesus’ response to any of the questions above is his rebuke of our impatience. Besides, who among us can cast the first stone? Until we have removed the log on our eyes, we cannot be so concerned with the speck on our brothers’ eyes.
The clock is ticking for those complacent leaders who boast of the nonchalant God of their creation; but the clock is ticking for all of us as well.
We are all prying on the patience of God. However, we are closer to when the seventh angel will sound his trumpet. That trumpet sound is a declaration of the end of God’s patience as the loud voices in heaven declare: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”
My friend, a core lesson for today is a repeat of the week’s recurring theme: The Second Coming of Christ, judgment and verdict, then eternity.
“And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, saying: ‘We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who was, because you have taken your great power and have begun to reign. The nations were angry, and your wrath has come. The time has come for judging the dead, and for rewarding your servants the prophets and your people who revere your name, both great and small— and for destroying those who destroy the earth.'”
The meek will inherit the earth, but destruction awaits those who destroy the earth!
In this life are you among those who revere God or those who destroy the earth! You can still fix it.
Weekend prayer: Holy Spirit, search me and uproot whatever derails me not to revere the name of the LORD in word and deed. Amen!
Have a blessed weekend! Peace be with you!
