“Ignore The Jealousy Of Men And Speak Boldly For The Lord!”
In their wisdom my people say, “the bucket becomes jealous when it realises that the basket can also hold water.” This is exactly what happened to Paul and Barnabas when they preached to the whole city of Pisidian Antioch. The whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord and the Jews “were filled with jealousy and talked abusively against what Paul was saying.”
Some of us have lived such experiences in our times. Many who should be co-workers in spreading the goodnews become jealous and call you all sorts of names. We do not claim to be saints as such, but God has given us the grace to preach the true gospel without compromise!
We wouldn’t hit back at our adversaries, but rather, we “will” carry the gospel to those we consider outsiders so that “all who were appointed to eternal life believes.”
We would also answer our adversaries “with boldness” that they antagonize the gospel simply because they “do not consider themselves worthy of eternal life…” The message of the cross must be preached everywhere by the messengers of truth so as to “bring salvation to the ends of the earth”.(Acts 13:44-49). In our generation the challengers and opposers of the gospel are everywhere and they come in different shades. That shouldn’t deter us from being bold to speak the truth which identifies the cross of Jesus Christ in the midst of the crosses of the criminals by his sides! The message of the cross is truth, justice, equity, righteousness. Where this abounds, peace inevitably follows!
Prayer: Lord, make me a light for the nations as I testify boldly to your message of salvation in word and deed. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
