“I Believe That You Are The Christ, The Son Of God…!”
Social media has overnight been awashed with pictures, video clips, audios and scripts of combat military vehicles entering the hot zone where some of us live whether by choice or otherwise. It is as if when we get up in the morning, no soul will be alive. But they that trust in the Lord are like mountains that cannot be moved. We keep on keeping on!
Uncertainty, grief, pain and sorrow can take us to that point of wishful thinking when we can only like Martha say, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” (Jn.11:17-27).
Jesus was Martha’s last hope, but the way she saw it, Jesus was not there when they needed him most. All the same, Martha was convinced that with Jesus there is no lateness. She voiced this out: “But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” What great faith!
Then came the reassuring confident voice of the Master, “Your brother will live again.” Martha knew Lazarus wil live again in the resurrection at the last day.
Jesus explained to Martha as he explains to us now: “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”
In Jesus is the life that is the light of humanity(Jn.1:4). He is the light from whom comes spiritual illumination. The holy light of the world who holds out wonderful hope for humanity.
Final death is impossible with Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him(Jn.14:6). Jesus is the author of life (Acts 3:15).
Through Christ Jesus God gives us victory, even over death (I Cor.15:57).
My friend, “Do you believe this?”
If you do, then join me in this affirmation: “Yes Lord. I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God who has come to the world. I believe in you whether I live or I die. Let me live or die, doing what enhances justice, truth, righteousness, life and love among the living.”
Prayer: Lord I believe. Thank you. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
Babila Fochang.
