“He Has Risen!…!”(Acts.13:26-40).
Some of the concerned women went very early in the morning to see if they could anoint Jesus’ body. They were surprised to find an empty tomb. While they still being worried, they saw an angel of the LORD. He told them, “Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here! See the place where they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter. He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.”(Mk.26:1-8).
All the plans Jesus’ killers made to ensure that he remained in the grave was futile.
Death was the necessary door through which Jesus will pass to become the Christ after he had been raised from the dead. This “people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus, yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets that are read every Sabbath….”
Without any grounds to condemn him, they went ahead to execute him! How myopic of them!
God raised Jesus from the dead, and he spent some days around to be “seen by those who had travelled with him from Galilee to Jerusalem.’
Dear friend, this is the good news which God promised of old which has been fulfilled by raising up Jesus.
Christ is risen! So what?
To parody Paul, Therefore, brethrens, “I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.”
By believing in the risen Lord Jesus Christ we have died with him in sin and by his resurrection we have risen as new creations. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!
Easter prayer: Almighty Father, we praise and worship you for the triumph of Jesus over death do carry away our sins. Holy Spirit make us deserving of his suffering, death and this victory. Amen!
Happy Easter!
