“Happy Easter Sunday!”(Col.3:1-11).
On this day the most extraordinary miracle took place. On this day the greatest story to be ever told was initiated.
On this day those who killed Jesus would start to regret that they ever killed him! In ignorance they had helped to make come true what they aimed to prevent from happening! Yes, on this day it was proven that what will be, will be!
The Lord is risen. He is risen indeed! Hallelujah. Hallelujah!
And so what? “We have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life appears then you also will appear with him in glory.”
Through the risen Lord we have now become new creations. “Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatory. Because of these the wrath of God is coming. You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But now you must rid yourselves of such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which in being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. Here there is” no social status, tribal or racial superiority. Neither is there any gender inequality nor refined nor savage people, “but Christ is all, and in all.”
Dear friend, this is to say Easter is meaningful when we strive to be what God in Christ through the resurrection wants us to become! And yes, we can, if we want to and if we make efforts towards it. The Holy Spirit will be our destiny helper, enabling us to reach our destiny in Christ.
Easter Sunday prayer: Lord Jesus Christ since my life is hidden in you, help me through the Holy Spirit to be what you want me to become. Amen!
Have a blessed Easter Sunday! Peace be with you! Happy Easter Sunday!
Rev Babila Fochang.
