“Grace And Peace To You From God…!”
Nobody who responds to the gospel call is an accident. The gospel which had been foretold by the prophets of old was to be fulfilled through a nonentity like Mary. The circumstance of her pregnancy was one of shame and disgrace such that Joseph the man to whom she was pledged to be married had a mind of calling off the marriage quietly. Yet it happened to Mary just as God had planned it (Mtt.1:18-25).
The son of Mary became the Saviour of the world even as Isaiah had foretold that “the Lord Almighty…is called the God of all the earth”(cf. Is.54:1-6).
God through Jesus Christ is impartial and inclusive, calling both the high and the lowly. On the one hand is the selection of Mary an ordinary girl to become the mother of the Saviour. On the other hand is the conversion of Paul a great Jewish scholar, and later on a nonpareil Christian scholar.
Once he was called, Paul saw himself as “a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God…”
By God’s grace Paul’s call was to broke the barrier of the Jewish religion of “exclusion” and “to call people from among all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith.”
My friend, the best of the good news is that “you are also among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ” and to all “who are loved by God and called to be saints.”
Yes, you too are found worthy to be among those who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.
To the chosen, here is the message for today: “Grace and peace to you from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ “(Rom.1:1-7). Be a happy recipient of this grace and peace and pass it on and pass it around with a genuine spirit of love towards all!
Sunday prayer: Thank you Lord for finding me worthy to also belong. Amen!
Welcome to Christmas and have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
