“Fulfilling The Greatest Commandment!”(Mt.22:34-40).
“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”
“The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm…”(Jam.1:5-8).
“Be holy because I, the LORD your God, am holy. Each of you must respect his mother and father, and you must observe my Sabbaths. I am the LORD your God. Do not turn to idols or make God’s of cast metal for yourselves. I am the LORD your God.” “Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not deceive one another. Do not swear falsely by my name and profane the name of your God. I am the LORD. Do not defraud your neighbor or rob him. Do not hold back the wages of a hired man overnight. Do not curse the deaf or put a stumbling block in front of the blind, but fear your God. I am the LORD. Do not pervert justice; do not show partiality to the poor or favouritism to the great, but judge your neighbor fairly. Do not go about spreading slander among your people. Do not do anything that endangers your neighbor’s life. I am the LORD. Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor frankly so you will not share in his guilt. Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD”(Lev.19:1-4&11-18).
Dear friend, happy Sunday. We do not need the Bible if we know and do love as in the above. Because the LORD says, “I will put my law in their minds and write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD…”(Jer.31:33-34).
Let love lead in word, thought and deed!
Sunday prayer: Holy Spirit help me to know love and to show love as a fulfilment of the greatest commandment. Amen!
Have a blessed Sunday! Peace be with you!
