“Free Offer Of Food From The Lord!”
“O Christ, in thee my soul hath found,
And found in thee alone,
The peace, the joy, I sought so long,
The bliss till now unknown.
Now none but Christ can satisfy,
None other name for me!
There’s love, and life, and lasting joy,
Lord Jesus, found in thee.
…” Church Hymnary, 699.
Jesus took “five small barley loaves and two small fish” and fed a great crowd that followed him. After feeding them twelve basket full of left overs were gathered (Jn.6:1-15).
We are more than a billion people following Jesus Christ but none of us leaves his presence without their needs being satisfied. In Jesus Christ there is abundance both for this physical life and the life in the hereafter.
In his words, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty(6:35).
Little becomes much when we lift it up to God in thanksgiving. He blesses and multiplies it until we will have leftovers which surpass the original quantity. Take note that leftover is what remains after the rest has been used. There can be no leftovers if you have not dispersed of the abundance. I just watched a skit where a beggar was asking for alms from passersby. Few peoole cared to offer anything . And then one couple passed by and the wife gave the beggar fifty cents. He then told them that he wasn’t a beggar. That he was experimenting to see those who care for beggars. He gave the woman a total of 1800 Rands (South African currency), plus what he had in his beggar’s collection cup. He took the woman’s number; which means there was hope of more to come to her later.
Share what you receive from God and the leftover will be hundredfold more than the initial. Do not also share because you seek the praise of men! We are told that after feeding the crowd, “Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.” When you share a love meal to others, do not allow their flatteries to swell your ego. Their motives are selfish!
It doesn’t matter the reason that brought you to Jesus, you are blessed to be among the Chosen ones. In Christ Jesus your cup overflows. “Come to Jesus and be satisfied…,” because there is nothing that can satisfy.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ thank you for satisfying both my physical and eternal hunger. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
