“Come To Jesus While He Is Still Around!”(Jn.7:32-26).
There is this true story of a man who was falsely accused and banished from his village. When he was banished those who framed him up rejoiced that they had accomplished their mission. The banished man was given a remote place in another village where he settled and soon became very prosperous. While he was prospering, the people responsible for his banishment were retrogressing.
The plans that we hatch to make some people suffer do not actually work to our advantage. We all are mere tools in the hands of the user. Joseph’s brothers would not have believed that by selling Joseph they were only helping to make his dreams come true. Portifar and his wife could not have imagined that for Joseph prison was a pathway to his rise.
The chief priests and the Pharisees were bent on killing Jesus on the grounds that he claimed to be the Christ. They thought that by killing him they were doing service to themselves, their religion and their God.
Ironically to kill Jesus was indeed a service to God; but not in the sense of their myopic reasoning. They wasted their energies to do what Jesus came for and which he wanted them to do.
He had to die to become the Christ.
While they sent for his arrest, Jesus said, “I am with you for only a short time, and then I go to the one who sent me. You will look for me, but you will not find me; where I am going, you cannot come.” By this he was predicting his death and resurrection. Those who wanted him dead saw his death as annihilation, but Jesus saw his death as victory; a way of going back to the one who sent him. The lesson here is: Never mind the antics of haters, their worst for you is still in God’s plan for the better. The Lord says,“For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”(Jer.29:11).
The doubt about Jesus being the Christ persist to this day. The doubters come in many shapes and forms. They do not only doubt, but they mock and riddicule those who have faith in Jesus as the Christ. But for us who believe that Jesus is the Christ, let us seek his presence while he may be found(Is,55:6). And when our travelling days are done, we too shall be where he is(Jn.14:3b).
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I know and believe you are the Christ. My life depends on you Lord. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
