“Come And Receive A Light Burden From Jesus Christ!”(Mt.11:25-30).
Today the murder of Deborah in cold blood is decried across the continent. It is seen as antagonism perpetuated by fanatics of one religion against the other.
Unfortunately, the truth is worst. The religious cold war raging within one religion itself is sometimes very disheartening. All this because the modern teachers of the law and Pharisees who sit in Moses’ seat “do not practice what they preach.”
Jesus says his followers should not do what the teachers of the law and Pharisees do.“They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.”(Mt.23:2-3).
The solution is Jesus Christ and not in the supposed representatives of Christ who rather impersonate him. In this regard Jesus beckons us,“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Those who put their trust in Jesus Christ and not in humans experience a certain unfathomable degree of freedom from worries and lightness of heart.
A few points to note.

  1. Jesus does not promise to free us completely of our burdens. Rather he will replace our heavy burdens with his own that is lighter.
  2. We should learn from him. He is gentle and humble in heart. If we too become gentle and humble in heart, we will find rest for our souls.
These are still some of the heavenly secrets for a godly living that God has hidden from the wise and learned but has revealed them to little children.
Let us praise God who has done this through the Lord Jesus Christ who has revealed these things to us.
Prayer: Lord Jesus Christ give us your light burdens. Holy Spirit help me to learn gentleness and humility from the Master. Amen!
Have a blessed day! Peace be with you!
